We hold our sellers to incredibly high standards, standards that have to be met, and we promise to support you if the vehicle is misrepresented. We strive to resolve all issues but unfortunately we cannot guarantee that the sale will be cancelled. Whilst we're committed to providing fully accurate and detailed information on all of our listings, every auction vehicle is “sold as seen”.
We want you to be satisfied with any purchase made through Car & Classic and so it’s important that you’re happy with the description of the vehicle before you bid. It's common practice when buying any second hand vehicle to carry out your due diligence and we encourage all potential buyers to fully scrutinize the vehicle, contact the seller if need be and also arrange a viewing if possible before committing to bid.
Fear not though, if you have any questions about an auction vehicle you can get in touch with the seller directly using the handy auction comments feature via the “Add a comment” box at the bottom of the listing. Simply log in to your C&C account and ask away. Please be aware that comments are publicly viewable on site so play nice.
You can also arrange a viewing (which we highly recommend) by clicking on the “Request a viewing” button on the auction listing page. This will send your request directly to the seller. For security purposes and in order to make Car and Classic the safest place to transact, a Car & Classic account and valid bank card are required to request viewings.
We're here to help, too, so feel free to contact the Car & Classic auctions team by emailing auctions@carandclassic.com.
The legal stuff: By placing a bid on an auction, you’re confirming you’re satisfied with the description of the vehicle and are committed to buying if you win, subject to meeting the reserve price. If you do win an auction, you enter into a legal agreement with the seller to pay for and collect the vehicle.
Ensure you have reviewed all details of the listing, as withdrawing from the sale is not permitted unless mutually agreed upon by the seller. Failure to honour the contract may result in legal action and additional costs. In the rare occasion that gross mis description has occurred, Car & Classic will investigate subject to satisfactory evidence being produced.
