“Sniping” happens when a bidder waits until the auction is nearly over, then places a bid in the final moments so other bidders don’t have time to respond. If a bid is placed within the final three minutes of a Car & Classic auction, we’ll automatically add another three minutes to the auction countdown, this allows other bidders time to react and place a counter bid if they’ve been outbid.
This will keep happening until last-minute bidding stops, so the auction could run longer than the stated end time.
