What are Car & Classic’s auction fees?
If your vehicle doesn’t sell, there’s no commission to pay! We charge 6% + VAT to sell via auction or a minimum fee, whichever is higher.
Our minimum fees are:
- Cars - £600/€600 + VAT
- Bikes - £500€400 + VAT
If you withdraw from a sale, the commission will still be payable.
How much is it to sell via an advert?
Selling via an advert is free! If you manage your own sale, payment and transfer, it won’t cost you a penny.
If you decide to accept an offer online through your Car & Classic account, we charge a fee of £99 inclusive of VAT.
How much does it cost to buy with Car & Classic?
When you buy via an auction we charge a secure payment fee, we may also charge this fee to buy via some adverts. The amount is dynamic, depending on the cost of the vehicle and starts from £245, we’ll let you know how much the secure payment fee is before you bid or make an offer on a vehicle.
We take the secure payment fee from the card on your account when an auction ends. Once the payment has cleared, we’ll send you instructions on how to pay the winning bid amount into our secure account.
How do you calculate VAT?
Our fees are subject to VAT. We don’t charge VAT on the price of the vehicle, it’s only a percentage of our fee. For example, if you’re charged our minimum fee when selling a car in the UK the VAT will be 20% of £600, making the total fee £720.
